J&J AUTO RACING TEAMS KEEP WINNING
McKENZIE, TN (Aug. 13) - With all eyes being on the Knoxville Nationals, there was plenty of attention on who would come out on top at Sprint car racing's biggest event. For the third straight year, a J&J Auto Racing car was the class of the field. Donny Schatz picked up his third straight Knoxville Nationals triumph and was joined by several other J&J winners during this past week including Blane Heimbach, Cris Eash, Marshall Skinner, Ryan Taylor, Lewis Jenkins, Sean Becker, Mark Dobmeier, and Cole Duncan.
KNOXVILLE NATIONALS
Donny Schatz made it three straight Knoxville Nationals wins on Saturday night racing the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 Armor All J&J to victory in the 30-lap main event. Schatz kicked off the Nationals by making the quickest qualifying lap and concluded by leading the final five laps to collect the $150,000 first place prize check.
Doug Esh earned the coveted "Rookie of the Nationals" Award while Rob Chaney, Josh Schneiderman, Natalie Sather, Skip Jackson, Lynton Jeffrey, Ricky Logan, Caleb Griffith, Dion Hindi, Mark Dobmeier, Fred Rahmer, Tim Shaffer, Brock Mayes, Kaley Gharst, Dean Jacobs, Seth Brahmer, Lee Jacob s,Ty Bartz and Ed Lynch, Jr. also competed in the event using J&J Auto Racing sprint cars.
SILVER DOLLAR SPEEDWAY
Sean Becker drove Rod Fauver's No. 64 J&J to victory last Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. The winning move came on lap 11 when he passed two cars for the top spot before driving off to score his third victory of the season.
USCS - NORTH ALABAMA SPEEDWAY
Marshall Skinner led the final 17 laps on Saturday night to win the OReilly USCS main event at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee. Skinner drove his No. 26 Dynotech powered J&J from the fifth starting position and passed early leader Tim Crawley on lap nine before gaining the lead for good on lap 13.
Ernie Ainsworth finished third in the Shorty Chambliss No. 40r J&J, while Terry Gray came home fourth in his No. 10 J&J.
SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY
In consecutive weeks, Blane Heimbach has tied for all-time 358 wins at Selinsgrove Speedway and then taken the all-time lead in career wins. This week, Heimbach again piloted the No. 12 Goff Racing J&J to his fifth win of the season and 26th career triumph at the track.
LINCOLN SPEEDWAY
Cris Eash felt like he let a race get away from him last week at Lincoln Speedway, so this week he didn't take any chances and came away victorious behind the wheel of his No. 17g J&J. Eash started eighth and methodically worked his way to the front on lap eight. ; He crusied the rest of the way to pick up the win, which allowed him to take over the point lead.
Cory Haas finished fifth in his No. 11c J&J.
PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY
Ryan Taylor had a memorable night on Saturday as the 20 year-old won his first career sprint car win. Taylor drove the No. 20 J&J into the lead on lap six and survived challenges from some of the best in the business to score the popular win at Port Royal Speedway. Keith Kauffman brought the Middleswarth No. 7 J&J home fourth.
I-30 SPEEDWAY
Lewis Jenkins made it three wins in a row on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.
SKYLINE SPEEDWAY
Cole Duncan found himself at the right place at the right time Saturday night at Skyline Speedway. Duncan raced the No. 22 Bobby Labonte Racing, Motorcity Auto Transport, Wolfden Carbon Fiber Products sponsored J&J to victory in the dash event, earning him the pole position for the event. After early leader Aaron Higgins had problems, Duncan rolled on to collect his second feature win.
HUSET'S SPEEDWAY
Mark Dobmeier picked up his sixth win at Huset's Speedway on Sunday night driving Dave Lunstra's No. 13 J&J. Dobmeier started third and took the lead on lap 11 of the 25-lap race.
BRILL MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Corey Metscher, a 14 year-old from McLoud, Okla. won his fifth feature event of the season in the No. 91 J&J at Brill Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
