J&J Auto Racing Teams Crowned Champions
It was a busy weekend full of wins and crowning of Track and Series Championships for three J&J Auto Racing teams. Trevor Serbus, Derek Hagar took the high honors of being crowned I-30 Speedway Track Champion and ASCS Mid-South Series Champion while Sam Hafertepe, Jr. ended the final chapter of I-30 Speedway and brought home the Short Track Nationals Championship. Tyler Drueke brawled it out to win the 305 Fall Brawl to round out the weekend.
TREVOR SERBUS
With 11 wins on his season, Trevor Serbus picks up the IMCA Track Championship at Jackson Motorplex and Arlington Raceway over the weekend on September 29th. Trevor picked up five wins at Arlington Raceway and One win at Jackson Motorplex.
DEREK HAGAR
Marion Arkansas's Derek Hagar will go down in the history books as I-30 Speedway final Track Champion on Thursday, September 29th. Closing its gates for good, I-30 Speedway held a lot of memories for the many drivers, teams and fans; Derek Hagar being one of them. An iconic speedway will have a remarkable driver as its last Track Champion in Hagar who also picked up the American Sprint Car Series Mid-South Region points Championship on the same night.
SAM HAFERTEPE, JR.
Texas native, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. was a man of many words as he stood in I-30 Speedway's victory lane for the second time of the weekend as the 2022 Short Track Nationals Champion after a hard-fought battle with Aaron Reutzel. Sam went back-to-back at I-30 Speedway and won the Short Track Nationals Twin 20 the night before, Friday, September 30th. With over 100 races under his belt, Sam has seven wins, 20 Top 5s, and 27 Top 10s on his season so far. The Hills Racing No.15H will be back in action in Sam's home state of Texas on October 14th & 15th at Devil's Bowl Speedway.
TYLER DRUEKE
Close to his hometown of Eagle, Nebraska, Tyler Drueke won the 305 Fall Brawl at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood Nebraska on October 1st. Having to "haul the mail", Tyler advanced six spots in just 18-laps to take the checkered flag behind the wheel of his J&J Auto Racing chassis. Tyler has eight wins on the season.
