Four Drivers, Four Wins For J&J Auto Racing
Saturday, May 9th proved to be a successful night for J&J Auto Racing teams across the sprint car racing world, as Rusty Hickman, Trey Starks, Christopher Townsend, and Derek Hagar each earned victories while piloting J&J Auto Racing chassis.
Internationally, Rusty Hickman of Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, led the victory tally for J&J Auto Racing by capturing his fourth win of the season aboard the family owned Vic 40 winged sprint car during the SRA 360 Series finale at Heartland Raceway. Capping off the series finale in impressive fashion for Hickman Motorsports. Hickman rolled off from the inside of the second row in the third starting position. Charging to the front of the field, he was able to take command of the race and drive away with the checkered flag to claim another victory for the team.
In the Pacific Northwest, longtime J&J Auto Racing customer Trey Starks continued his winning ways by capturing his third consecutive victory at Skagit Speedway aboard his winged 360 sprint car. Starks has been a consistent force at the Washington track so far this season, currently leading the 360 sprint car track championship standings while also sitting fourth in the 410 track point standings.
Tarkington, Texas driver Christopher Townsend put together a flawless night at Kennedale Speedway Park, leading all 30 laps of the Texas RaceSaver Nationals to earn the biggest win of his career. Townsend never gave up the top spot once the green flag dropped, holding off the field to complete a memorable victory and collect a major payday in the process.
Marion, Arkansas driver Derek Hagar was back behind the wheel of the J&J Auto Racing Coil Over Car and returned to Victory Lane once again, this time in front of family and friends at Riverside International Speedway in 360 competition.The win also marked the second straight for the Coil Over Car with Hagar at the controls, adding another strong result as the team continues to gather valuable data with the new package.
