Easter Weekend Success For J&J Auto Racing
Easter weekend delivered strong results for two J&J Auto Racing teams. Internationally, Rusty Hickman secured two wins at Timms Speedway. In the United States, Tyler Clem earned his second victory of the season with the Top Gun Sprint Series.
Hickman and the Vic 40 team stayed busy throughout the holiday weekend competing in the 360 LS Series. On night one in Mildura, Hickman had a standout performance. He started Heat 1 from the pole position and went on to win the race. In Heat 2, he started sixth and charged forward to finish second, setting up a strong position for the feature. In the 30 lap main event, Hickman started on the pole and drove to victory, capturing the SA State Title along with the bragging rights that came with it. On night two at Timms Speedway, Hickman continued his momentum. He started Heat 1 in fourth and moved up one position. In Heat 2, he advanced six spots to take the win. That performance put him on the pole for the Easter Nationals feature. Hickman led every lap and secured back to back wins at Timms Speedway.
Tyler Clem picked up his second victory at Hendry County Motorsports Park with the Florida based 360ci winged sprint car series, Top Gun Sprints. Starting from third, Clem stayed alert and took advantage when the opportunity came, driving his way to the checkered flag. The result made for a strong Easter weekend and a fitting reward for car owner Robbie Smith. Clem and Smith currently lead both the driver and owner points standings.
